Game Recap

The Chargers defeated the Cardinals of Davison last night in a nail biter. This game was to determine who would be the JV conference champs this year. The first half both team went back and forth on baskets. They went into half time tied 18-18. The trading of baskets continued into the 4th quarter. Down by 2 in the fourth with 3:30 left, Kennedy Myers drained a 3 to put the Chargers up by 1. That was the turn around of the game. Davison started fouling to get the ball back but Powers wasn’t having it. They went 12-19 (63%) from the free-throw line in the 4th quarter. It went down to the final seconds as Davison called 2 timeouts to set up a last chance play. Powers played solid defense and was able to get a block and secure the ball as the time ran off the clock. The JV team finished 8-1 in conference play. Sophomore, Kennedy Myers, had a huge game posting 16 points and going 8-10 from the free-throw line. She had help from sophomore, Sophia VanTol, who chipped in 8 points. Powers has its final 2 games next week.
