Game Recap

The Powers Catholic Lady Chargers prevailed on Senior Night over the visiting Grand Blanc Bobcats last night at Atwood Stadium 14-5. With the win, the Chargers improved their season record to 9-5.

Prior to the game, the Charger Lacrosse Family celebrated the careers and contributions of our 4 seniors and captains. They Include Kristin Ammerman, Jillian Mansour, Tessa Peabody and Megan Pyrett. These talented young women have much success waiting for them as they start the next chapters in their lives.

Defense continues to be a theme this season for the Chargers as they are currently ranked 7th in the state in “Goals Allowed” giving up less than 7 goals per game. Yesterday, the stingy team defense only allowed 7 total shots on goal for the entire game. Moreover, every player on the team found a way onto the stats sheet with 9 Chargers recording goals and 50% of the goals coming off assists.

Leaders for the game were Natalie Ragnone (3 Goals, 4 A, 2 GB), Grace Andreski (3 Goals, 1 A, 5 DC, 4 GB), Megan Pyrett (2 Goals), Maddie Mathenia (1 goal, 7 GB, 3 int, 2 DC) and Abby Polakowski (1 goal, 6 GB).

The team travels to Midland for their final Saginaw Valley League matchup on Wed 5/10 to face a tough Midland/HH Dow team. Faceoff is set for 5:30pm.
