Game Recap
Reed Macksood helped Powers break open a close game with two second half goals to lead the Chargers past Detroit Country Day 4-1. Powers led 1-0 at the half following Chase Knoblock’s second goal of the season at 22:51. Macksood’s two goals broke the game open and stingy Charger defense stifled Country Day’s offense much of the day, limiting them to just 4 shots on goal.
Brian Wiltse completed the Powers scoring, with a goal at 38:08 of the second half, while Country Day spoiled the shutout bid with less than 25 seconds to play in the game. Wolfgang Ruth had 2 assists on the day. The game was the first soccer contest at the newly-renovated Atwood Stadium since 1986.
JV tied Country Day 1-1 when Bryan Lendzion scored the equalizer in the second half.
