Multiple Teams · Varsity Football Erupts for Six Second Half TDs


Powers grad Jerry Todd earned his first victory at the helm of Powers Catholic as the Chargers defeated Saginaw Heritage 56-34 in Saginaw Valley action. Deadlocked 14-14 at halftime, Powers scored three touchdowns in each of the final two quarters to win going away.

Zack Talovich threw for 317 yards and 4 touchdowns (two to Donald Scott, and one each to Peyton Beauchamp and Matt Wiskur).  Kaden Nelson, Luke Brcic, and Julian Wiggins added short rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter.  Additionally, Nelson answered an early Heritage score by returning the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown.  Kicker Morgan Livingston drilled all eight extra points.  Brcic led the defense with 7 tackles.

Powers will host Bay City Central at Holy Redeemer Field next Friday, September 9th.
