Meet Recap

Senior co-captain Sarah Kirtek led the way for the Chargers with two individual wins in a double-dual meet against Carman-Ainsworth and Bay City Western Thursday evening at CA. Powers dropped CA 144-17, but was edged by Bay City Western 97-79 in Saginaw Valley League action.

Kirtek won the 200 Individual Medley (2:28.40), and 500 Free (5:42.61). Kirtek was also part of the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay teams that took home the top prize. Kirtek, freshman Hannah Murawski, junior Allie Dasky, and senior Sydney Lawrence out-touched BCW in the 200 MR (2:06.57), while Kirtek, Dasky, Lawrence, and senior co-captain Kristin Ammerman swam away with the 200 FR in 1:49.62.

Dasky was a winner in the 100 Free (58.20), and had a tough 2nd-place finish in the 50 Free. Dasky slipped on the blocks to begin the 50, and was last to the wall at the turn. She came all the way back, but ran out of pool, losing by less than one-tenth of a second. Freshman diver Sam Snyder earned the Chargers other victory of the night. Snyder won the diving event, scoring a season-high 141.30 points.

Next up for the Chargers is another Valley League double-dual meet against CA and Midland next Tuesday evening at Carman.
