Girls Varsity Swimming · Powers Swimmers Earn Honors at SVL Championships

Senior Sarah Kirtek and junior Allie Dasky each earned 1st-Team All-Conference honors at the Saginaw Valley League Swimming and Diving Championship held at Saginaw Valley State University.  For Kirtek, it was her 4th consecutive year as a first-teamer.  Dasky made first-team this year, after having garnered second-team honors a year ago.  Senior Sydney Lawrence, and freshman Hannah Murawski earned a spot on the 2nd-Team, while senior Kristin Ammerman was recognized as an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.

The season is not over for Kirtek, Dasky, Lawrence, and Ammerman.  The four teammates comprise the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays teams that have qualified for the State Meet which will be held in Holland, Michigan, November 18th and 19th.  Kirtek has also qualified to swim in three individual events – the 200 Individual Medley, the 100 Butterfly, and 100 Breaststroke.  Rules will only allow her to swim in two individual events, so she will have a decision to make.  Dasky will be swimming the 50 and 100 Freestyle sprint events, while Sydney Lawrence will also swim the 50 Free at the big dance.
