Meet Recap

Powers hosted Linden, Lake Fenton and MSD in a 4 team meet on Tuesday the 11th.
The women’s team continued their dominant start to the season rolling up a total of 131 points easily outdistancing 2nd place Linden.

The women were led by Anna Ruhstorfer who swept the 100 and 200 meter dashes and anchored the 400 and 800 meter relays to victories. Julia Vanitvelt who moved down to the 400 meter dash taking first and then came back in the 2 mile to finish first. Libbie Gleason, Chandler Blom and Cassidy Chalut swept 1-2-3 finishes in the 1600 meter run. Jambernice Lang broke the tape in the 100 meter hurdles while Alexis Granta and Cassidy Chalut then finished 1-2 in the 300 meter hurdles, showing off the team strength in the hurdles. Paige Deitering and Libbie Gleason finished a second apart sweeping 1-2 in the 800 meter run. Courtney Reddy and Delaney Goggins finished 1-2 in the pole vault.
Also placing first were the 3200, 800 and 400 meter relay teams.

Other scorers included Alexis Granta 5th 100 meter hurdles, Lauren Cuneaz 5th 1600 meter run, Chandler Bloom 5th 800 meter run, Victoria Puyrett 2nd 200 meter dash, Meghan Lawrence 3rd 200 meter dash & 4th high jump, Mia Sakashita 4th long jump, Kit Goyette 2nd 100 meter dash, Emma Briock 3rd 100 meter dash, Endia Croder 4th 100 meter dash, Madison Drass 3rd 400 meter dash,

The men’s team also come out on top scoring 92 points, Linden finished in 2nd with 80 points and Lake Fenton was 3rd with 74 in a match of of 3 teams who will compete for a regional championship in May.

The Chargers were led by Kaden Nelson who swept the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Nelson remains undefeated in the hurdles on the young season. Chandler Lorf placed first in the mile. Bryan Lendzion broke the tape in the 200 meter dash

For the men overall depth was critical as the Chargers piled up points with numerous 2nd 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishes.

These included the 2nd place 1600 meter relay team of Ethan Hamilton, Sasha Bennett Tahj Edwards and Hollister Fechik, the 2nd place 3200 meter relay team of Hamilton, Andrew Palovich, Brian Wiltse and Chandler Lorf, Bryan Lendzion 2nd 100 meter dash, Henry Warner 4th 100 meter dash, the 2nd place 800 meter relay team of Bryan Lendzion, Henry Warner, Tahj Edwards and Kaden Nelson, Ethan Hamilton 4th place in the 1600 & 3rd place 800 meter run, Eric Spidle 5th place 1600, 400 meter relay 3rd place Joe Bade, Nick Stein, Trevor Purman and Elliott Pigee, Bryan Lendzion 2nd 400 meter dash, Tahj Edwards 2nd 300 meter hurdles, Donald Scott 3rd 200 meter dash, Chandler Lorf 2nd 3200 meter run, Hollister Fechik 3rd high jump, Griffin Werschy 2nd pole vault, Collin Zelley 3rd Pole vault, Nick Stein 2nd long jump, Joe Bade 3rd long jump.

The men are off until Tuesday the 18th when they travel to Midland to take on Bay City Central and Midland High to kick off the Saginaw Valley schedule.

The women are completing on Thursday the 13th at Davison High school and will then be in Midland on the 18th as well.
