The JV Lacrosse Team improved its record to 6-3 with its 6th straight win over a Midland/Midland Dow combined team at Atwood Stadium on Tuesday night. Coach Jason Carlile commented “This group of young men has really improved week in and week out this year. While we need to improve our consistency in some facets of our game, I’m really proud and happy for them for what they are accomplishing. Being undefeated so far in the SVL is a huge accomplishment for this program. We finish the year this Thursday at Bay City and are looking to go undefeated in our league for the first time in a long time.”
One thing that is consistent is that the Chargers got scoring from a large group of players. Six different players contributed on the scoring end. Evan Rekowski led the group with three goals. John Cislo, Luke Phillpotts and Josh Kovach added 2 each while Michael Wilson and Dom Mattar netted one each. Cislo and Kovach had assists.
Luke Phillpotts registered another outstanding game collecting 12 ground balls which allowed the Chargers to carry the time of posession in the game. Jacob Malenich and Jake Engel had 4 ground balls each while Brad Thomas and Dom Mattar had 3 each.
Goalie Noah Gadola turned away 5 shots in the second quarter alone when the Midland/Midland Dow team was mounting a comeback.
