Chargers News · Chargers Shutout Saginaw in SVL Opener

The Varsity football team rolled to 32-0 halftime lead on its way to 38-0 win at Saginaw High. The contest was called with about nine minutes left in the 4th quarter due to a significant injury to a Saginaw player.

Four different Chargers scored offensive touchdowns: Donovan Franklin, Holden Warner, Devaun Marsh, and Michael Romzek. Mason Leubke kicked two extra points. The Powers defense (which denied the Trojans even one first down) was highlighted by Luke Phillpotts’ 38-yard interception for a TD.

The 2-0 Chargers take on a tough Kalamazoo Central squad next Friday in a non-league game at Atwood Stadium.
