Chargers News · Welcome to our new Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, Ryan Trevithick!


Powers Catholic Athletic Director Mike Watson would like to announce the hiring of Ryan Trevithick (Tree – vi- thick) as the Powers Catholic Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.

Mr. Trevithick comes to Powers Catholic after spending four seasons at Saginaw Valley State University as the women’s assistant basketball coach (2015 – 2018) and the Interim Head Coach (2018 – 2019). Coach Trevithick owns and operates his own health and fitness company focusing on nutrition and athletic advancement, he also serves as the Deputy Director for the Michigan Mystics, a girls youth basketball club in Genesee County.  Coach Trevithick earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Saginaw Valley State University in Business Management. He is married to wife Krista Trevithick with their four children Richard, Katherine and twins Alexander and Benjamin.

“I’m very excited and honored to be provided the opportunity to be the next Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Basketball Program at Powers Catholic High School. This opportunity is, in my opinion, one of the best coaching jobs in the State of Michigan and I look forward to the chance to lead this program into the future. After being asked in the interview process why I would want this position its simple for me, I want to transform lives. My players and their families will find that I have a positive authentic approach to serving others, fulfilling my opportunity as a husband, father and coach while consistently exemplifying honor, integrity and respect. Powers Catholic has always had a prestigious reputation and I look forward to enhancing that during my time here. I want to thank Athletic Director Mike Watson and the search committee for their time in the selection process.
