On a Saturday when the wind howled and gusted from the south, the Chargers fell 18-5 and 14-7 to a powerful Grand Blanc Bobcat squad. Despite the breeze, the Grand Blanc bats never cooled off.
The Powers offense was lead by the following: J.D. Garman, Zander Asbridge, and Fischer Hendershot, each tallied three hits on the day; Jack Dawley, Garrett Wright, and Isaac Sturgess collected two hits apiece; Mason Luebke knocked in four runs; and, Alex Shores reached base by getting hit three times by Bobcat pitches. Post-game Shores said he “felt like a magnet,” but the big senior is okay. Sunday will provide time for the roster to “lick its wounds”.
On Monday, the Chargers go on the road to take on Midland High School in a doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m.
