Meet Recap

Saginaw Heritage 10/19/17
On October 19th our girls swim team lost a tough match to SVL power Saginaw Heritage by a score of 107 to 76. Saginaw takes pride in their relay teams but had to accept a second place medal in the 200 medley relay to start out the evening by losing to the team from Powers consisting of Hannah Murawski, Abby Merz, Lara Wujciak and Allison Dasky. It was a nail biter until the end but our girls pulled out the victory. Also surprising our SVL counterpart were victories in the 200 freestyle by Dasky, a strong finish by Wujciak in the 100 butterfly, and a beautiful performance by Merz in the 100 breast stroke to all out touch their opponents. Speaking of a beautiful performance, Samantha Snyder was dazzling in her 1st place finish on the 1M diving board. Merz and Murawski added points in the 200 I.M., 100 backstroke and the 200 & 400 relays. Wujciak was also strong in the 200 freestyle finishing 3rd, and helped teammates of Emily Snyder, Merz and Dasky to finish 2nd in the 200 freestyle relay. Other strong performances were Olivia Camera (3rd in the 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle), Emma Brock (3rd in the 100 freestyle) and 3rd place for both girls in the 200 freestyle relay with fellow swimmers Maddie Mathenia and Ella Kovach. Other point gatherers for the Lady Chargers include Rylie Dunigan and Erin Piazza who teamed with Murawski & Mazurek in the 400 freestyle relay. Next week the Lady Chargers will be working extremely hard in preparation for the Saginaw Valley League meet to begin Thursday November 2nd and conclude on the 4th on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University. Please encourage and cheer on our swimmers as they pursue their personal best times and possibly a few new school records.
