At the North Branch tournament over the weekend, the Powers Catholic Chargers took on plenty of high caliber competition, making it a great prep tournament for Districts which start next week on Nov. 6th for the Chargers (drew the “bye” for game 1).

PCAT faced Lake Orion, North Branch, and Freeland in pool play. Powers lost to Lake Orion in the first set 18-25 and then 24-26 in the second set. They then went on to face North Branch, winning the first set 25-19 and losing the second set 15-25. Next came Freeland and the Chargers also split with them, losing the first set 23-25 and winning the second 25-17.

Going into the Silver Bracket for playoffs, Powers Catholic faced Fenton for the third time this season. They were able to beat them in two sets, winning them both 25-20. This win led them to the Silver Bracket championship game where they faced North Branch for a second time, this time beating them both sets, the first 27-25 and the second 25-22.

Overall, the Chargers had some fantastic performances. Offensively, senior Gaby Clark had 8 serving aces for the day, while sophomore Madison Gebhardt had 6.
