At the Fenton Tri last night, Goodrich, Fenton, and Powers Catholic Varsity and sub-varsity levels competed to end the regular season play. The night was filled with long rallies, sacrificial digs, and earth-shattering kills; one couldn’t ask for a better night of volleyball.
Fenton Tigers defeated Goodrich 2-0 to start the night, giving Powers the upper hand as Goodrich was coming off a loss. The Chargers defeated Goodrich 2-0 with standout performances from senior McKenna Friedt with 8 kills and 17 digs, freshman Madison Gebhardt with 8 kills, senior Mya McHallam with 9 digs, and junior Mariah Brenz with 18 assists.
With a win under each of their belts, the Chargers and the Tigers battled it out next. Although the Chargers were defeated 0-2, the game was nothing short of exciting. Senior Olivia Bruzewski had 10 digs defensively while Gebhardt contributed 6 digs and 3 kills. Friedt also contributed 9 digs and 6 kills this game while Brenz contributed 2 kills, 8 assists, and 3 digs.
