On a chilly and windy Wednesday afternoon the Chargers took on the Linden Eagles and Lake Fenton Blue Devils at Linden high school for a early season match up. The three team meet has become a tradition for the three schools with this being the 4th straight year this meet has been competed.
Them men’s team scored 93 points to easily outdistance Linden’s 49.5 points.
On the Women’s side Linden took the crown with 86 points to Power’s 66.
Individual winners include Naveah Sanders and Grace Phillpotts in the 100 meter dashes,
Hollister Fechik in the 400 meter dash and high jump, Griffin Werschky in the pole vault, Kaylee Huey in the 800, Libbie Gleason in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, and Haidynn Granata in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.
The men’s team had an especially good day as they swept the wins in all four relays and the women took first in the 3200 meter relay.
Notably Donovan Franklin took 2nd in the long jump and his leap of 19’00 moved him into 6th place all time. Navaeh Sanders’ time of 11.58 in the 100 meter dash ranks as the 9th best performance in school history. Also in the 100 meter dash Grace Phillpotts broke into the top 10 all time with a time of 13.71 which makes her 9th all time.
